New publications in Kōkako 44

New Zealand based journal Kōkako recently released issue 44, which is packed with over a hundred pages of haiku, haiga, haibun, tanka and tanka prose from New Zealand, Australia and beyond. I am pleased to have had two haiku and two haibun published in Kōkako # 44. The two photos below relate to my haibun.

Next Gadigal Ginko: 10am Wednesday 18th March 2026 at Barangaroo

After an interruption of several months, the next Gadigal Ginko will take place on Wednesday 18th March 2026 from 10am at Barangaroo. To join other Sydney haiku poets in exploring this foreshore area while composing poems, please register via the form on the Gadigal Ginko page. There you’ll find an outline of what’s involved in the ginko, as well as links to reports of previous ginko.

New publications in 2025

So far this year six new haiku and a haibun of mine have appeared in Modern Haiku 56.1, Kokako 42, Echidna Tracks 14 and Espacio Luna Alfanje: Haikus Internacionales. Espacio Luna Alfanje is a multi-lingual publication, and the April 2025 issue includes a Spanish translation of my haiku.

Seashores 14 will be out soon, as well as a haiku anthology about tea edited by Denise Fontaine-Pincince.

The anthology celebrating Haiku Down Under 2024 came out towards the end of last year. Carole Harrison and Sue Courtney did a wonderful job as editors of A Sensory Journey: Haiku Down Under Anthology 2024. I was pleased to have two poems included, as well as some introductory remarks.
